Anna Berg has been nominated for a TONO Newcomer Award!
TONO's Newcomer Award is presented to composers or music publishers who are early in their careers and have had a breakthrough in the previous year. Artistic quality, impact and visibility are key considerations for the judging panel.
Berg is nominated for her orchestral piece, Nuances of Water, which premiered with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra in November 2025 and has since seen further performances and France and Bergen.
The announcement also includes details of the Edvard Prize. The winners will be announced during a ceremony at TONO House, Oslo, on 28 October, and will be presented with a trophy designed by Magne Furuholmen.
TONO was founded in 1928 and is a non-profit cooperative owned and managed by composers, lyricists and music publishers. TONO manages the economic copyrights in their musical works and grants licenses for the use of protected music.
